And the ♥♥♥♥storm begins.
There are The Witcher 2 promo hats. I, for one, consider it an insult to The Witcher's art style, as well as that of TF2. And it is also why I am buying from GoG, unless someone can convince me otherwise!

PC game devs have to stick together. I have no issue with it.

where? They're hidden in the patch that went out today and haven't gone live yet. Scout gets Geralt hair, a sword, and the medallion.

If it helps TW2 sell more im all for it... PC-Only developed games need as many sales as they can get imo.
Im not a TF2 fan though.

Valve is crying because GOG sale wins in all ways over the overprices steam one, so hats will try to sell better.
I already bought my GOG one, besides being cheaper, it still gave me 3 free games.
EDIT: just to add, i would laugh my ♥♥♥ off if the items end being craftable like the Rift ones?

TF2 was ruined long ago. It doesnt really matter what valve add to it these days.

EDIT: just to add, i would laugh my ♥♥♥ off if the items end being craftable like the Rift ones?I assume they will be. The Rift method of crafing and dropping promo times will probably stay, because everyone complains when they don't have access to an item, even if the item is so specific to a game that it would be ridiculous to not own that game and still want the item.

How/where did you find this? You've been crawling into the wiki all day?
Edit: Oh right.. the patchnotes.. STUPID STUPID STUPID

Edit: Oh right.. the patchnotes.. STUPID STUPID STUPIDActually it wasn't in the patch notes. Some people are just crazy enough to search for new files every time a patch comes out to look for unlisted changes. Then it promptly gets posted in the TF2 forums where the week of complaining will commence.

I wonder if this is preorder only.
But it doubt it being there is no announcement about these items in any official channel so far and the game is out TUE.

Am I the only one who finds it hilarious that of all the classes they could have given Witcher themed items, they chose the fraking scout ?!

It's a smart move for CDP. It's irritating to those of us who dislike TF2 or their community, but there are so many of those people who buy anything if there's a hat involved. It's just an easy way for CDP sell extra copies and bring in more revenue.
The downside is that we'll definitely have more complaints from TF2 players who actually try to play The Witcher 2.

If I remember correctly the TF2 promotional items from Shogun 2 became available the Friday before that game released, and were gone when the game came out the following Tuesday. Could be the same situation here.

How do promo hats ruin the art style of anything? It's not like they're being imported into The Witcher 2, they're being imported to TF2 (and a lot of people claim that the art style of TF2's already broken  so another promo isn't going to change anything). In case you haven't noticed, promotions cause more people to buy the game, which means more money for the hard working devs who brought us this game, are you telling me you don't want them to earn some extra cash for all their hard work? And great, you're buying from GoG, money still goes to the developers and everyone's happy, what else are you proposing that we convince you to do?

If you don't like the hats, don't use them. They're purely cosmetic, and don't ruin anything.
The sword is just a Boston basher reskin, nothing more. So many people whining because of "teh ruined hat fortress 2". Seriously if you liked TF2 before just STFU, play the game and have fun.
