Has anyone else has a problem with the music being really choppy in Spacechem?
I didn't have a problem when I was playing the demo a while back, but when I started playing the full game that I bought a few days ago, the music is cutting out every couple of seconds, and it's really distracting :(
Not sure if it matters, but I'm running it on a late 2010 MBP 2.4 GHz dual core
I have the same problem, running on an iMac 7,1.

I hadn't until today. I really just wanted to see if there were any others out there that had the same issue as me. It seems to be that it's only mac users, but I can't really tell with the amount of people having problems and posting here.

I am also having this same issue. Just the ever so slight choppiness in the music. I am on Mac OS X 2.5ghz interl core 2 duo. Just wanted to see if there was a fix/let you know that it's happening to others.

I actually sent Zach an email about this yesterday. Also having the problem, on OS X as seems to be the trend.
2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
4 GB RAM
1GB AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics
He told me to set the music and sound to 0%, restart the game and change it back. Doesn't seem to have helped, though.

He told me the same thing, and I had the same result as you :(
Hopefully this gets resolved soon. I really like the music, and the frequency at which it skips makes it pretty much unplayable for me, at least with the music on

I'm assuming for a second that you're not having the problem with other music.
You might try play the audio files directly. On windows they some ogg-files in the music directory, on mac they should be the same. iirc iTunes doesn't support ogg out-of-the-box, so you may need a plugin or external player (eg VLC, although I'm not a fan of it).
If it's still choppy then, at least you can exclude the game itself and check audio-drivers.
Audio problems are usually related to audio-drivers, decoders or influenced by a game graphics component.
(As a workaround you can play the music in a playlist with in-game music to 0%, if it's still choppy then... well...)

Haven't had any other problems with music. Tried both of the things you suggested, and the music played fine through VLC when the game was/was not running. I just find it odd that I could play the demo without any music problems. And the fact that sergeduc was having no problems before the update makes me think that's the culprit.
Although, while I have been waiting to get this resolved, I found out that the soundtrack is free to download (although, you can donate money if you so choose), which is pretty sweet :)

Yeah, guess what I just realized: It's not just the SpaceChem music that SpaceChem makes choppy.
That is, if I'm running SpaceChem and try to play music in iTunes, that too becomes choppy. This realization has made the problem so much worse. Ugh. :( :( :(

Ive also seen this, works fine on my PC but after copying my save to my MBP i get the stuttering music. I havent tried any of the suggested fixes though.
Where can you download the soundtrack btw? i don't see it on the spacechem website unless i missed it somehow.

This issue should be fixed in the latest build available on Steam!

Just bought the game today as part of the summer sale (tried the demo ages ago and remembered it when I saw the summer camp challenge).
I noticed I'm also getting choppy sound/music, as well as delayed mouse movement, but only when in fullscreen (with aspect ratio either ticked or unticked). Playing windowed has it working perfect.
For reference, basic system specs are:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750
RAM: 2GB DDR2 PC2-6400
GPU: GeForce 9800 GTX+
OS: Windows 7

Bumpin this up to say I'm having music trouble as well :(. The music plays fine by itself in VLC, but in-game the music makes light "crackling" noises every few seconds, which sucks since the soundtrack is so awesome. Any new solutions?
