I live in Europe. I love buying games from Steam, I have more than 20 on my account.
What I will NEVER do is buy a game that is a lot more expensive in Europe than let's say U.S.
With The Witcher 2 it's the same thing. It's 29.96% cheaper in the U.S. I will wait for a price drop.
Steam, this is an issue. In the long run, this will make you lose money. Think about it!

I don't think you can hold Steam responsible to price differences. Fact is, most European countries levy around 20% VAT, which is unheard of in the USA. Hence, prices there are lower. If you want to save money, order from Amazon.uk. I don't know how they do it, but games sell a lot cheaper there. The Witcher 2 costs less than 29 Euros.

If you don't mind getting the game from somewhere else than Steam, you can get the retail version for under 30€.

I think I'll wait for a Steam price drop. The amazon.uk's price is ok, but shipping adds 1/3 of the game's price - not realy a deal.

Buy from GOG, get 3 free games, enjoy the game to the fullest.
If you really want it ALSO on steam, wait for xmas, buy it on sale at 50% if not more, or wait for the next year if you really want the game on steam.

It's the same price on GOG, 44.99 euros. No gain there, I'm not interested in other games.

Digital prices are a joke, i mean how can Steam/D2D games cost MORE than a boxed copy which has the manufacturing and handling costs which simply arnt there on Digital.
They should be £10 less not £10 more.
However, this isnt steams fault exactly its everyone.

And if you're in a European country which does not have any VAT for digital goods, such as Norway, you're still stuck paying about 40% more than Americans do.
I bought the game from GoG for 45$, no silly price conversion even though my location is set to Norway there as well. Oh, and the free bonus game doesn't hurt either.

Yep, I've just bought it on GoG for the exact same price.
