How do I destroy sunflowers?

Defenetly, one hit with a pick to the dirt it is growing on, even if you don't destroy it.

Okay, thanks... anyone know how to save events of the world? I built a house, had to reboot my computer, couldn't see a way to quit/save so I just shut it down, now I have to start the world fresh (though my character is saved).

Bottom right corner in your crafting/inventory screen, right below your equipment.
