Launches on Steam platform
Grabs #1 best seller place beating out DNF, Portal 2, Brink and even The Witcher 2 due May 17th!!! (Note - List is based on revenue generated, not number of units sold which means for every 1 copy of a £30 game Terraria had to sell 5 just to match it in price terms!)
Sells over 17,000 copies based on Steam Stats (peak players list)
Becomes 1st ever indie game (seen and done) on Steam to grab that much coveted #1 sellers spot within the 1st 24 hours of launch, NO OTHER indie game has ever done this on Steam and having tracked Steam for all of 2010 and all 2011 so far you can take my word for it that I have not seen ONE other "indie" based game achieve this which gives Terraria a very unique place in Steam's history books!

Granted it's only an alpha build and needs many, many patches and updates to fulfill it's potential...but what a start!!!

I hope all early buyers like myself are granted "early adopter" status like what they did with Minecraft but also what they did with Natural Selection 2 when they did a limited alpha "buy" timeframe which gave away some "rare" NS2 items that will never be seen again. Minecraft did a similar timeframe deal last year I seem to recall that also rewarded early adopters.

Over 17k of us are taking a chance that Terraria might be a jewel in the rough, that this might be Steam's indie game of the year for 2011, let us hope we are not dissappointed!

Note - My main gaming on Steam started in autumn 2009, if you know any other indie game that made #1 top seller within the 1st 24 hours of launch please reply stating your facts and evidence to back up your claim.

I've been trying to get my dad to buy this, but sadly I have to wait a few weeks :( Hopefully the price doesn't go up before then. We already spent most of our money on rent...ah well.

Why does everyone keep asking for a free copy of this game from complete strangers?

Same concept as people panhandling on the side of the road, asking for handouts.

Yet, some people has an equivalent annual income of $100,000 pan-handling.
