Can't hear Zandi talk

I can hear everything else in the desert region, as far as I can tell: background music, my footsteps, doors opening and closing, and other sound effects. I can even hear Yeesha talk in the holographic message. But Zandi doesn't make any sound, even though his lips move and he gestures. I can't hear his radio either. Yet I can hear flies buzzing and wind blowing as I stand there under his awning. The sound files for his speech and radio exist in steamapps\common\uru cc\sfx and steamapps\common\uru cc\sfx\streamingCache and I can play them fine with external sound programs.

I've tried doing 'VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE', and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Uru CC.

I'm running Steam in Wine 1.3.18-1 on Fedora 14 with PulseAudio. I haven't had any audio trouble with other Steam games, or any other applications under wine for that matter.
