Any way to choose where you spawn?

Hey, is there anyway to choose where you spawn after you die? Because whenever i get killed i spawn right at the end of my world, which is pretty annoying as it's quite far away from my house. Is there a specific item you have to place or something?

Build a bed using silk (from cobwebs) and wood. Make sure you right click on the bed after placing it.

Sorry for rezzing this thread, but me and my friend haven't been able to use a bed anywhere below. It seems like backgrounds are preventing you from making safe rooms. Does anyone know what to do?

We make a room with doors and light, then place a bed in it, but it doesn't seem to be enough, we can't click the bed.

Put the bed in your 'Hot keys bar' of items (that bar with 10 items that is ALWAYS visible in the left top corner of the screen). Click on the icon of the bed, then click in the ground to place, you need to have something about 3 or 4 tiles of space (no tables, workbenchs, anvils or anything previously placed). Once the bed is set, RIGHT click the bed, and a yellow message will come up saying something like you will spawn there.

If you are playing MP, lag might cause an issue where the spawn reset isnt recognised. This happened to me earlier, but it worked after some time has passed.

5 silk and 15 wood i believe.

I think you need 5 silks and X wood (im pretty sure it was 10 wood)

Might be. We went to the dungeon and placed a bed on top, worked fine.

Still can't use it below ground, it seems like the problem is background to be honest. But you've been able to place it below?

We needed it for the "hell" portion so we could gather hellstone. Took 4 hours to get ONE set of armor. Sad thing is, that it's worth it. After getting Muramasa it'll be a lot easier.

Make sure the bed has a light source that is not a torch. You can make a room above ground with a window/skylight. :D

you can also spawn at blakes house but only through da epic cheat.

The only requiriment of using the bed is that the bed needs a wall behind it. I'm not sure about the light source.

Beds probably won't work on Dirt and belown layer, since they are not walls, but only background.

You need "background", like bricks or wood paneling which you craft at a crafting table. It's basicly just panels in the background which you can't interact with, apart from breaking it with a hammer.

The problem below ground is that you need to remove whatever background is there and then replace it.
