Do people even play this game anymore on the PC?

I'm thinking about the original SF4, I bought the game during a steam sale a few years back and it had a relatively good coummunity.

I'm thinking about reinstalling it again and pre-ordering SSFIV but I'm not to sure if there's even at least more than 50 people playing at peak hours in North America.

Is there a way to find out how many people play the PC version of this game?

Can't find Championship matches anymore but Ranked and Friendly always have people in. I have never had to wait more than a minute to find a game.

If you host the match and have a decent connection, people will come to you!

Steam stats aren't a good indicator of players for games that aren't exclusive to Steam/Steamworks.

Last time I played, a couple of weeks ago, I had no trouble finding opponents for ranked match.

Since they announced SSFIVAE for PC you can see the community is hyped as there are a lot more players online in SFIV as before.

it has been 2 weeks now that i started playing it evry day to prepare for ssf4 ae pc. and yes i can find PEOPLE EVRY DAY AT ANY TIME I PLAY! I live in Greece. YES!! it is a 2 years old game and still can find people evry day at any time of the day to play!

you must buy ssf4ae because by the time they release ssf4ae evryone will move to it. so buy it!

for me it takes less than a minute to find a game. also yesterday i made an experiment. i just turned arade request on.. and then, i started playing arcade mode... and do you know what happend? do you?? EVRY SECOND i was getting requests that resulted in no able to play arcade mode so turned it off. that proof of how strong the pc community of sf4 is, even after 2 years. now can you imagine what will happen when they release ssf4 ae?

These stats are only for the games being played on STEAM, it doesn't counts the whole gaming universe. Do You know that, right?

Since 2008 my SFIV is installed here. And I still play, and find people to play SO EASY.

Go ahead and re-install this amazing game while you wait for the AE. ;)

Its $14.98 (http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-SFVI/street-fighter-iv) at GamersGate right now, and it will give you a few months to practice until SSFIV comes out. While a lot has changed in SSFIV you can still work on basic linking, footwork, pokeing etc.

There are people playing online, and even if you cant get online or its a little slow, then the challenge mode is an invaluable training mode.

Really only you can decide if its worth while picking up the old version this close to the release of the new.

i am also too excited. pc version will be so much better imagine the mods! they will make awesome mds! also much better graphic, resolution e.t.c. street fighter vs teken pc verison depends on the succes of ssf4 ae pc! so we must all buy ssf4 ae pc.

You can find ranked matches, ( practice matches ) almost 100 percent of the time. Ive only seen 6 championship matches in the last month :(

So for quality fights, you can find them at any hour.
for championship fights, never :(

that being said, I bet youll be able to find instant championship matches for the next year straight come july. if you buy :AE that is.
