Hey Cowgirl, I think most people are having low performance issues at this point. I think in general, PC gamers eyes are used to higher frame rates, 60+, so when we get into a game like Fable 3 ported from consoles, which runs at 30 FPS with Vsync on, it seems very sluggish. At least, I have determined that this is the case with me. Maybe try turning off the Vsync, I have read in a couple other threads this helping a lot of people, it seemed to help my performance a lot too. :D

turn tree detail way down.

Turn off in-game v-synch and try forcing it through your GPU's control panel. A lot of people say that stops the game from capping at 30fps.
Unless it is a general performance issue.

You're lucky. I get around 5-10fps in towns/outside.

Why don't you use the auto detect feature.
This will set your game up in the optimal way for your system.
Too many people think that their machine is so amazing that they can crank everything to max and then are surprised when they get frame drops.
Runs absolutely fine for me on my 460 which is lower than your card and I used autodetect... which put most things on max but a few things lower.

not using vsync
auto detect makes it max settings
oliathsg, my rig is amazing for this game, moron.

Yeah sorry, I crank up stuff because I know my PC can handle it, not because I suddenly think it's amazing.

err I know my pc can handle it, a gtx 560 at 1 ghz like mine is basically a 570, and if you think a 570 can't handle this game then lol

I have GTX 480 and it gives me 20-25 FPS in towns. There's definitely something wrong.

My comment wasn't directed at you lol.

GTX 480 here as well. Just turn the effects details slider to minimum (the setting for blur, aa, bloom, dof). Set in-game v-sync off. Set control panel v-sync and triple buffering on. Set trees details to medium. My card is overclocked to 810 mhz and I get a solid 60 fps in towns and wilderness settings.
Now heres where other people might be experiencing problems--nvidia users specifically.
The newest beta drivers released on the 17th of May seem to have a bug that destroys fps in some situations (first reported in Witcher 2), but this is avoided by not installing the 3d-vision component of the drivers. So just try a clean install of your nvidia drivers and avoid installing the 3d-vision element.

You guys must sure be doing something wrong.
I run everything on max at 1920 x 1080 at slid 60fps on:
i7 950@4ghz
24gb Ram
GTX 480

^_^ could be that fable 3 has an insane memory leak issue and your 24gb of ram kicks it in the balls

I DONT WANT to play a game if I have to scale down my graphics to less than high. Why should I sacrifice my own visuals because something wasn't designed right?

Hmmm... I doubt it.
The issues are widespread, it's surely not something to do with us, thanks.

Rofl SLI 480s and a Sandy @ 4.8 and only 50-60 FPS? You do realize that performance is TERRIBLE for your rig and the graphical quality of this game?
Wow what a ♥♥♥♥in moron you are.

I never had any issues while I was in town until I got to about 25 hours in the game. Now it seems like every time I'm in a town I'm going in slo-mo for most of the visit.

Does this game run incredibly choppy for anyone else. I mean you will have 30+ fps but moving the camera will cause stutters and choppiness but the fps stays the same..

DarkByke: I know you have 6cores, but i reckon these guys performances come from an OC on their CPU's lol 4ghz sure is abit faster than 2.6ghz :P

Really? I couldve sworn there was stutter on the 360 videos i saw... similar but not as intense as the pc version.
