UI Mods for AoC

I like some of the UI mods I have seen for Age of Conan, and have even downloaded a couple. I went so far as to download the special UI installer, but I never get anything but the original UI.

The UI installer will tell you if you are trying to install in the wrong directory, so I don't think that is the problem (tho you can easily do that with Steam).

Has anyone had this problem or had success changing the UI?

A while back I put a custome UI on, the only thing that stopped it for me was whenever there was an update. I was using the retail version though :/
Although generally from my experience steam is usually happy with mods for games. There is only one i have come across that has issues and that was because the .exe was different from retail.
