Dedicated server

I tryed to make a server from my play game list with the dedicated server. When my friend tryed to connect he got in but then he was gona try the Rcon, no luck.
First he wrote Rcon_password "password" then he tryed to write rcon say hello just to test it but then he got a strange msg up. Unable to connect to remote server then ip

When i lookt in the Console off my dedicated server the following thing got up:
RCON connection failed (WSAEAFNOSUPPORT)
Unable to connect to remote server (unknown)
Lost RCON connection, please retry command (UNKNOWN ERROR)

What is all off this? anyone know? please post as fast as you can, thank you =)

ROFL....

umm if i remember correctly putting the ip into the command line for your server fixed this issue, but if ur running a DS from your steam client i dunno what to do, ive never done that....

fyi i believe i was doing approx 45wpm during this post.... is that fast enough? (bear in mind ive just woken up!)

Goto tab games/server password and put in. Then[ rcon_password yourpassword] in console. FYI, its better to run standalone, but that is also personel preference.

Can you explain the solution a little further. I just finished setting up a Ded Server, and I launch CS:Source on the same PC, to test the RCON commands and I'm receiving the same error.

I'm not using the Steam Source Dedicated server...I created it by downloading the files through DOS.

Which command line do you mean....and what is the command I type in?

Please help...this is the first time I do this..
