I went on a cracked server...

So, after a while I decided to play some MW2 again. But guess what, the game I went on was a cracked server (I saw a MOTD etc.).

I didn't want to get my account in trouble, so I left the server before killing anyone (as I know in some servers you get lvl 70 10 prestige after one kill). But then, I noticed 2 changes:
1) My killstreak selection was gone
2) When viewing the scoreboard, I can see pings in numbers

Will such server bring my account in trouble (VAC)? I know people say you can't get banned for joining these servers, but this server DID change a file on my computer (as I can see pings in numbers now).

No, you will be fine. Only the person who runs it can be held responsible due to the nature of matching for games.

If your killstreaks are de-selected, you can simply pick them back out again in the ks menu. If you are unable to set them, delete the multiplayer configuration file.

The ping numbers showing is a sweet thing to have after a modded server, but it will only last until the end of your session. Next launch, it will go back to ping bars only.

Download the Mw3 config tool found somewhere in this forums, then you can get your ping bar fixed.
