Creating A Server

When i create a server form the Source dedicated server tool from steam it does not show up on my server list. Any1 know how to fix this?


Also: After I reinstalled steam i cant get the dedicated server to run, it says preparing to play game and after that box closes, the game doen't run. Some please help!

your best bet is to run a standalone server (http://www.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=189717) a little bit harder to set up, but twice as rewarding and easy to maintain. You'll need some common knowledge of computers to make it work, but if you're not a total noob, this tutorial should work for you. Please read the stickies... oh wait, it isn't a sticky yet :P. my bad :).

OK thank you. I know enough about computer to set that up. I tried it once before but it was taking to long but i guess i'll just have to wait.
