A Game of Thrones: Genesis

It's a RTS made by Cyanide, who made Blood Bowl, Loki and are making of Orcs and men.

Probably a low quality cash in on the name..but we'll see.

Oh yeah, I actually heard this game was coming up a couple of years ago, but then forgot about it!

Mumblegrumble, wish Cyanide would get on with Necromunda instead...though I can't remember if they said they would make Necromunda or if it was just a possibility.

As long as Cyanide doesn't pull that "DLC in the form of a full-priced game" crap they pulled several times with Blood Bowl, it might be worth paying for.

They only pulled that once. Dark Elf Edition to Legendary Edition. The upgrade to Dark Elf edition was a free patch.

But still, it wasn't a good thing to do. I boycotted Legendary Edition until they gave the discount to people who owned the original edition.

I'd swear that the original edition and the Dark Elf edition are still being sold as separate games. I could be wrong though.

Is this game based on the TV show called Game of Thrones? Or is it something different?

Short answer: yes

Long answer: It's based on the book series A Song of Ice and Fire, of which the first book is called A Game of Thrones, which the tv series is also based upon - the tv series sticks to the plot of the books very closely.

I hear that it's a bit unusual for a strategy game, as in, the mechanics aren't what people normally expect. People either love it or hate it, but all agree that it's not a typical strategy game!

It's based before the events of the books/tv series.
