View Full Version : Several questions...

I bought Arcadia awhile back and have played it a bit, with mostly enjoyment, however I have a few questions regarding it.

My first question is how do you tell how many lives you have remaining? I think you get 3, but sometimes I've died far more than 3 times and the game continues without ending.

Is there a list of the controls anywhere? It took me awhile but I managed to work out that x was quit. Just wondering if there are any other controls I'm missing. A list somewhere would make it easier to get into the game as you wouldn't have to experiment just to find out how to exit.

What does it signify when an enemy changes color to white for a random period of time? I haven't noticed them behave any differently.

Difficulty. This last one is pretty subjective, but is Casual supposed to be harder than Chaotic? I find I can regularly score 25-50k on Chaotic, but tend to have difficulty even making 20k on Casual. And I don't even know how you are supposed to accomplish the pivot point achievements (aside from getting them via glitch.) as the game pace is so quick you tend to have a half second or less to respond to stuff flying from off screen to hit you, but that's probably just me needing to improve my response time I guess.

1) Lives are the ^^^^, bombs are the 0000

2) No control list as of yet. Message strings are slightly broken, hence why Press () to Exit is not displaying.

3) This is a really rare/hard to reproduce bug. I think only you and maybe one or two others have experienced this. I myself never have. Please provide full hardware specs and OS Specs

4) Casual is easier as it throws less enemies at you, and takes longer to ramp up than Chaotic. However, due to the lower enemy density, it takes longer for you to rack up points. Due to that, the time you have available to make a mistake (killing yourself) is much larger than in Chaotic. Basically, its less intense, but due to its slower pace, provides you with more time to make errors. Fatigue or attrition rather than brutal onslaught :)

Not seeing the ^^^ anywhere, some sort of bug?

For Specs I'm running the game on my Lanbox at the moment, currently working on repairs to my main system, so I can test if the issue with graphics happens there in a week or two.

LanBox Specs
i5 2500
Gigabyte H67N Motherboard
8GB DDR3
XFX 6850
2560x1600 Resolution, and I do have a secondary display as well.
Win 7 x64

Main System Specs (if/when I test there as well)
2x X5690 OC'd 4.4Ghz
EVGA SR-2 Motherboard
12GB DDR3
3x EVGA GTX 580
Same Monitors for both systems, so 2560x1600 Main Panel
Win7 x64

Let me know if any further system specs are necessary.

I've only tested on a single monitor, so that could very well be the problem.
