Theif 3 crashes at launch with "nv4_disp.dll". Now laptop crashes with same error

Yesterday i installed Thief III, at launch, it crashes and a dialog box saying "nv4_disp.dll crashed and i need to restart". Once I click ok, I lose my resolution and the color drops down to 16 bits or even lower i think (worse than Safe Mode screen)..

Now same thing happens even though I'm not starting Thief..

How do I get rid of this problem?
