Its telling me to press R to initiate landing and it does NOTHING no landing gear not crap. pls help before I uninstall this game out of rage

Well I got for PS3 but hopefully I can help.

Slow down because you can't set any landing gear if your not under 280 I think

yeah.. kinda like driving... you cant stop without slowing down first.. lol

I'm getting this too in HAWX2 PC. I've even stalled a bunch of times 160ish to see if that was the reason but it still crashes with no gear.
I've landed on the carrier in a previous mission and things worked correctly but this straight on landing at the captured field just won't work.

Ok, figured it out.

If you're like me, you reassigned the "Interaction" key. So "R" doesn't work anymore, and the game isn't smart enough to know you've changed keys.

Revile01, the other posts are correct for HAWX2. I had a problem landing too. As you approach the landing strip initiate the landing with the interaction key.
It will tell you to slow down to lower your gear and set a slow-to speed in green on the left side of your HUD. As soon as you reach that or lower (don't stall) press your space bar key to lower your gear.
Landing without help will net you some XP points eventually: 10 landing without the ERS help will do it. They can be done in a campaign or free flight.

You can also use ERS to line you up too i think (not sure on that) but might want to try anyways..

You have to manually drop the gear... check your control settings for which button that is.
