Sims 3 Won't Load HNNNNNG

Recently, I've fired up the game and the EA logo, intro movie, and loading bar will load, but the bar won't move at all. Deleting my custom content hasn't worked so I'm a little perplexed as to what the problem is; I've had the game for awhile and this hasn't been an issue up until now.

Help?

The latest patch screwed up the game. I had to uninstall and reinstall completely. That helped.

Nope, because I have the download version :D

If you have patch 1.22 or Generations installed, there is indeed an issue with the current patch. If reinstalling doesn't work, go to your DEP and add the file 'TS3W.EXE' (instead of 'TS3.EXE'). That cured the problem for me.
