Anyone else think the magnet gun is awesome?

I haven't gotten too far in the game but that thing is a blast to use. Sending enemies flying into distant walls or into other enemies. Same deal with destructible terrain. I think I'm liking this even more than the gravity gun from Half Life 2.

What are your thoughts?

Agreed. Without a doubt THE BEST weapon I've seen in a game since the gravity gun and maybe one the best of all time. I love taking fuel silos and send them hurling into critters and monoliths...

Black Hole gun is my fav ...only because it rips the biggest of monsters apart ..along with any buildings you shoot at..

Magnet gun though is a very close second ..since I like how you can rip buildings apart very easily with it ..along with crushing the small monsters with the debris :D

I'm really having a lot of fun with the magnet gun, wish they had it in Guerilla. Be fun to tear entire towns apart with it.

Beat the game on normal, using ONLY the magnet gun except when I am required to use a different gun. Magnet gun is beast.

Magnet gun is pretty sweet. Chuck an object at an enemy, repair it, and chuck it again. Never need ammo. 2nd favorite weapon is the rail gun. Heat vision, can shoot through walls, and uses the small ammo packages.

I like the Magnet gun a lot too. I use it 85% of the time or so. The rest of the time I use either the Plasma Cannon (against tough bosses and those alien reinforcing spire things), and sometimes the lasers. I actually used the laser pistols as rapid fire weapons before I found that HOLDING the mouse resulted in a solid beam XD It still worked with quick shots and didn't consume ammo very fast.

My fave thing to do with the Magnet gun is to grab a large object (like side of a building), or explosives (those huge explosive tanks are awesome), and draw it to an enemy XD The bigger the object you grab, the more likely you'll squishify either a group of enemies, or a larger enemy. So far I have something like 121 kills with the Magnet gun, and considerably less on other weapons. I've only played something like 2.5 hours so far though.

I kind of wish they made some challenges for the Magnet gun like the demolition mode in Guerrilla. I also miss exploding barrel golf.

The only problem with magnet gun is that it eliminates the need to switch to any other weapon. Its an all in one.

Wait until the bugs mutate, and slamming 2 of them together results in a new enemy.

Yeah I connected 2 bugs together right near a high drop off and both wen over the edge, I lol'd and kepted on shooting.

Agreed!! Aim the device at the top of the building and then the bottom to watch it completely implode. Great way of taking out infected structures quickly. I also liked using parts of the infected building to shoot at the nearby spawning enemies. It's like a environmental ammo supply :cool:. Gets even better when explosives are involved.

Singularity is nice as you play through first time. THen you buy the tri laser gun..and omg...

the 3 lasers closing in on target area..and KABOOM! Leo guns are sweet for sure.

On second play through with my new toys...unlimited ammo on some guns to. just sick...the carnage. Sometimes I just obliterate an entire area...then walk in and its easy pickins on mobs. :p

It's a good idea to carry one in any case, since it can help your get things that are normally hard to get.

The magnet gun is one of the best guns i have seen in awhile, at first i didn't get it and then i was like "Oooooh! That's awesome!" and used it most of the way.

I wish i had it in Guerilla, tearing apart those EDF buildings would of been so much easier :p

I pretty much only used the Magnet gun start to well near finish. Towards the end I opted to use other weapons due to the sheer amount of enemies ;).

You can erm pretend to be "scorpion" as well if that's your thing ;) Shoot one magnet onto an alien shoot the other magnet at your feet and melee them when the magnets draw it close enough :cool:

For the bigger aliens I just play rag doll with them. Hit the ceiling, now hit the wall, now go smash into that building over there then blow yourself up.
