I'm annoyed too, I just bought the game on sale, opened my NAT type (damned Home Hub) and I can't find any games.

Grr. And I bought the DLC too, I loved this game on Xbox, I want my riot shield RPG combo back!

I tried to play this afternoon (3 hrs ago) and did manage to find games after a minute or so of searching. They were not too laggy ping-wise, just playable. I got both expansions. I am currently in England. It could just be your geographical location/ time of day.

In my experience, you are most likely to find games if you have both DLC packs.

Looks like my decision to buy MW1 instead of MW2 on the sale was the right one, plenty of action going on all the time here.. oh and dedicated servers! :cool:

I think its the opposite or if you have one of the DLC's it takes forever to find a game.

For the past few days I haven`t been able to join
any games except for one that has a blown up game
map over the full screen. I`ve left then joined
another game already in progress but keep finding the
same damn map overlay...it`s driving me nuts and
it`s hard on the eyes.

Sounds like you need to fix your HUD using MW2Config (http://www.mw2config.com/). If you don't want to use this program, you could try deleting your config_mp.cfg in ".\steam\steamapps\common\call of duty modern warfare 2\players" (you'll have to reconfigure your game options).

I, too, have not been able to connect to any games since yesterday. I was playing pretty much all day Tuesday and Wednesday with no problems, and with no DLC. I was able to find games in 20 seconds or less. Haven't been able to find any games at all since yesterday, and I just tried now. This wouldn't be a problem with Dedicated Servers... I guess it's back to CoD4.

If it means anything I kept getting connected to a hacked host in Ground War yesterday, with low gravity and such, but nothing about my game was changed as far as I can tell. Every time I got connected I left right away, and I stopped looking for Ground War games after the third time it happened.

Is this actually confirmed? It would certainly make sense. So the game is now divided into 4 tiers (in order of, presumably, most currently playing players):

People with both DLC Map Packs
People without any DLC
People with only the 1st DLC Map Pack
People with only the 2nd DLC Map Pack

And you can only join the group that you fit into. Unbelievable, so now my game is basically useless because I can't connect to anything (since I have only the 1st map pack). If I had known, I'd have bought the stupid 2nd map pack when it was last on sale! Now what?!

I bought the second DLC during the steam sale and still haven't found a single game in any of the game modes on mw2...slightly annoyed to say the least.

Oh and my nat type is open and should work fine.

I've been finding games just fine. and I've got horrible internet. just take a look in the bottom corner and make sure theres people playing the particular mode your queuing up for

Bought it on sale with both map packs, no problems finding matches, although finding people with the extra maps is a rarity..... mostly playing the ones included unfortunately.

Team deathmatch - over 6700 players online and there was 0/1 games found all the way to 70 ms search. Hope things get better in the future.

Hmmm, plenty of people playing at the bottom corner.. anyone have any idea why i cant find a single game? never had problems in the past until i bought the resurgence DLC

its fine for me. it takes a while to find a first game then after that it should be immediate.

If you haven't noticed, the ms value of search is not accurate. More likely, if the search goes on to 70 ms, it is more probable to have a lobby which has ping of over 100 ms.

Anyone have an idea why this is happening ? Is it specific ISP based or perhaps a problem with IWNet..

For the record I'm on a BT fibre optic connection.

I also bought the game around 4-5 days ago... played one online team death-match game the day I bought it and now cant find games at all... Not my problem, all other games fine, NAT open... Modern Warfare 2 problems... sort it out!

I bought both packs on sale and I didn't notice any difference in finding games. As other people have said here, it will take a minute before the game finds any game but afterwards it is almost instant.

I do think that people who have bought the dlc can still join non-dlc as they still have the same maps, only less. I played 5 rounds without any of the new maps.

Just an update that this problem is still ongoing for me.
Even tried a different router with correct ports forwarded and still no luck.

Could this be an ISP specific thing to do with packet shaping etc
Just seems a shame I haven't been able to use my new dlc.
