Gosh people, what is wrong with you? Have you never been disappointed by a game before?

MW2 was the first game I brought on release date that I was disappointed with, i knew nothing about it beforehand in terms of p2p system etc, i just used to play COD4 a lot, but thats beside the point.

What im trying to say is, why would people buy games on the day or pre order then complain?

You have a chance to wait 24 hours and see reviews and gameplay THEN buy/not buy and save disappointment and your hard earned money.

No doubt people will pre order another game and be disappointed, why dont people learn?

I was disappointed with the last five games I pre-ordered, but this time will be different! I just know it!

I've never been this dissepointed with a game at this price with that kind of a title before... Usually I know what I'm buying but this is not nuke... no enemies, just boring puzzles.

The game doesn't give any good performance on my computer although it should. Gearbox were too busy taking care of ps3/xbox part.

but you should be mindful no matter what game or price it is, even for BF3 i will wait a few days or even a week before buying just in case

Heh, for BF3 I think I'll wait for the third or fourth patch.
Just sayin'...

I tried the demo (First Access Club or whatever they call it, on account of me buying some DLC for Borderlands), and upon finishing it, I promptly went and pre-ordered the full game.

Small, regenerating health bar?
Hell yeah, makes it fun to hunt for those ego boosts because they're FAR from pointless, and there is no way in hell I'd run and hide to regen. If I can't stay and fight, I deserve to load a checkpoint.

Only two weapons?
Well, that sucks, but it's sort of growin' on me. Being limited makes me creative, and it sure as hell motivates me to get up close and personal with some melee action!

Dated graphics?
Pff, screw graphics. I want aesthetics, and this game is pretty good at that. Sure, they could have sprinkled a little more detail in some of the areas, and there is plenty of room for creativity in these textures, but meh. I bought a game, not a painting.

Missing console?
Didn't anyone find the magic switch yet? No?
Oh well. Personally I won't need it for another couple of weeks, when I'm good and done with the game and want to goof around with cheats etc.

No modding tools?
What game ever had modding tools on day one?
Oh wait. Lots.
Well, lots got them later, too. There are even awesome games (with awesome mods) that have no official mod support at all. Minecraft, for example.

So yeah, screw you guys, I'm busy enjoying this game!

I know. I'm a sucker. I never learn :-(

Thanks for the wake up ♥♥♥♥♥ slap :) DNF is the final wake up call for me.

You. Me. We both need counselling. I'm moving to China for a bit of G&A in one of their army camps. Then off to Tibet to work managing my gamers rage.

Exactly! ^^

To be honest, playing the demo, watching TB's "WTF is Duke Nukem" and all those infos given on the web, I was not sure about the game, but then I rembered "hey, it's freaking Duke Nukem!" and just to feel like I was 15 all over again and playing that "incredible new and political incorrect shooter game" is worth the buy.
And because of that, I made a small list to celebrate that game the way it deserves:

- get system drivers up to date (they usually are, but double check just to be sure)
- make sure you have time (3 days, thanks this monday is a day off here in germany)
- get some Burgers prepared in case of hunger, just have to fry the patties
- get a couple of Havanna's
- get a bottle of whiskey
- inform family/friends I'm unavailable
- unplug phone and disable doorbell
- get the game running and K I C K A S S !!

In case it will be a real letdown (which I doubt, even if it's only mediocre, it is still Duke ^^) I can kill off that bottle of whiskey fast instead of enjoying a good drink with my game ;)

I'm not at all surprised that people are complaining about it.

I mean these days people are INSANELY critical about everything.

I've enjoyed the game. I expected idiotic relaxing humour and weird crazy things from Duke Nukem Forever and never expected it to be one of those glossy shiny awesome FPS games that they've been releasing lately in insane amounts.

The graphics wouldn't have been better 12 years ago. Why were you all so excited about duke nukem forever, if you expected something totally different from Duke 3d, that's what I'm surprised about :/

Demo seemed a bit sucky.... the first hour in seemed a bit flat... but then I got shrunk, jumped an RC car over a naked babe statues 4ss through a huge ball of fire and started laughing manically.

That moment made me remember Duke. And damn, this IS duke. It's insane, it makes you facepalm, almost cry how juvenile some jokes are, but if you just get to the same mindset that you had back when playing duke nukem 3d, I'd say you WILL enjoy it.

Just.. being a tiny action figure sized guy, fighting pigcops on a shelf with beans and mustard, jumping on spatulas and lounge chairs like trampolines... If that's not your thing, you should stick with the serious releases ;D But this is what gaming is about more (or at least was), than the whole "We try to make games as realistic as possible" trend.

Just don't think it's going to have an award winning plot and that it's a masterpiece of quality, excellence and style. It's not classy. It's randomness in a nutshell. It's duke's macho attitude and never knowing what's the next crazy thing waiting for you around the corner.

I mean... That's what I liked about duke. That's what I'm experiencing.

And I agree with everything Neithan said.

Hell, I opened up my first beer when I booted Duke Forever for the first time. And so far I've seen things I couldn't have guessed in a million years to be in the game :D Ridiculous things that made me laugh and cry.

I think it's a Duke game. And there's nothing wrong with that in my books.

*opens up another beer*

(and I mean... even the amount of hilarious screenshots I've got from this game exceeds the amount I've got from all the other fps games lately.. that's gotta tell you something.. I couldn't take a screenshot of a j1zz stained pornmag that has a huge turd on it in any other game ;| Not that... it's what my sense of humour is about but COME ON, if that's not "WTF LOL OMG WTF BBQ" material, I don't know what is.)

Edit: and I think you'll find that when you finally get the mentality of DUKE set in your brain, you'll have a blast... there's quite nothing than boost/handbreaking over a pig alien with a monstertruck like a boss and heading towards the next huge ramp with duke screaming YEEEEEHAAAAAWWWW...
