If there is any hope of increasing the games potential it's probably a good place to start. I'm hoping we can find and disable mouse smoothing, increase weapon carry limit, tweak the fps settings (if you've played around with UT3/boredomlands setting you will know what I mean).

Disabling vsync disables mouse smoothing or whatever you call that lag and increases framerate - if you're getting screen tearing - that sucks...
I don't have any issues with the way the mouse is moving the game - it's just like quake3 from back in the days.
And if you're still suffering from low fps with vsync disabled - then you need to start thinking about upgrading your computer, or reinstall some stuff like windows and drivers. Cause this game runs smoothly on all 1-2 year old computers today.
A mod that increase the weapon limit is needed. It would probably be a lot more complicated than the Doom 3 mod that let you use the flashlight with a gun, but it's of the same necessity.

Because the mouse is exactly how it was in Quake 3. Maybe not for you, but for me it is.

It's precise, as if I was moving my mouse in any other non-console fps game, like Quake 3, like Quake 2 and 1... and Half-Life 1 and Half-Life 2 and [insert any non-console fps game here].
There's nothing wrong with the way the mouse is moving in this game. There's no smoothing or anything. There is however some lag if vsync is enabled.

There is mouse acceleration by default, even if you set mouse precision to 1 it still has some acceleration. If you can't notice it, then maybe you need to play more FPS games, because I'm not the only one noticing this.
Also, it's not possible to set the sensitivity to how I like it. I'm given 10 presets on the game menus and there's no way to define anything between those presets. Mouse sensitivity set to 1 on menu is 3.0 on engine, 2 is 6.0, 3 is 9.0, etc.
So, now tell me how can you even compare it to Quake 3 mouse controls which allow everything this game doesn't. And don't say a certain problem doesn't exist because you don't notice/have it.

Hmmm, time to buy a new mouse? Most legit mice have drivers and utilities to fine tune the mouse speed. Maybe you need to play more FPS?

you'd better buy a USB pad...

I have no idea why idiots like you defend something that is indefensible, but I would guess you feel you have to defend this game because everyone is attacking it right now.
For your information, I have a Logitech MX518, and I use this mouse since it first came out as MX500. Everytime it dies I buy the same model because I'm used to it, and use it for years now. My mousepad is a Steelseries 5L, and my sensitivity is always so if I move my mouse from the left margin to the right margin of the pad it does a 360º turn ingame.
I play like this for years, and any well thought out fps game has a way so you can define your sensitivity in decimal numbers (1.7, 3.5, etc), and also a way to completely disable mouse accel. DNF doesn't allow this, but people still try to defend it - people that can't even identify mouse acceleration when they play it, and claim it doesn't have mouse accel. Please, don't make me laugh... I should play more fps games? Stop being a fanb0y and accept that this game has flaws that shouldn't be there.

MouseAccelDampening=1.000000 aka 'precision' is driving me nuts, coming from an FPS background having a mouse that floats around is horrible. Gearbox better make a way to disable it... :/

Exactly, the name of the option on the config file it's even called "accel", but these fanb0ys say it doesn't have accel.

Gearbox blocked the ability to edit and save tweaks to the ini files for the full version of DNF. Every time you start the game any changes are reset.

Actually, it has null characters between every normal character, so if you use the default notepad to edit it and then save the file, the ini file will become corrupted to the game. The solution is to edit the ini files with notepad++, but even then the sensitivity and accel settings only accept the values the menu defines, if you try to use 1.000000 as sensitivity the game will just ignore it.

I was able to change my sensitivity. I edited user.ini with Notepad++ (default Notepad won't work) and edited the following lines:
MouseX=Axis aMouseX Speed=1.0
MouseY=Axis aMouseY Speed=1.0
to
MouseX=Axis aMouseX Speed=0.685
MouseY=Axis aMouseY Speed=0.685
So, finally I will start playing the game, since the lowest mouse sensitivity offered by the game options menu was way too high for me, and the game ignored the more obvious options (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=22842544&postcount=6).

What I'm sensing is about 2% of the DNF gaming community owns 80 trillion DPI mice and play with a mousepad that takes up the size of a 32'' monitor, and they're complaining that when they move the mouse a few inches to the left or right, it doesn't allow them to tone down how far the game lets you aim so they end up aiming at the wall, instead of someone's face as expected.
Wish I cared. Iunno about you guys, but my desktop's pretty pressed for frame; I get about three inches of leeway on either side of my mousepad. DNF aims the same as pretty much every FPS I've ever played in ever.

Well my Logitech Performance Mouse MX plays DNF perfectly so the problems you are have are your problems and have nothing to do with the game what so ever! Oh and the game plays great with my wireless Xbox 360 controllers also.

I agree, maybe the last fps game they played was Duke Nukem 3D, so they don't care about mouse configurability. Glad I could help you.

Good for you that you like mouse acceleration. I don't.

Well, that's why there should be a way to define the sensitivity with precision instead of just giving players 10 sliders in the game options, because not everyone has the same setup or preferences. It seems you are used to high mouse sensitivity, I'm not.
Well my Logitech Performance Mouse MX plays DNF perfectly so the problems you are have are your problems and have nothing to do with the game what so ever! Oh and the game plays great with my wireless Xbox 360 controllers also.
That's a very dumb argument, just because a problem doesn't affect you it doesn't mean it doesn't exist for other people. If the sensitivity you are used to didn't fall inside the 10 presets the game gives you, you would also be complaning that the mouse was too fast/slow. Fortunately there's that config option.
Because it has flaws, but I honestly enjoyed it.
You're entitled to your opinion, as I am to mine.
I was talking about mouse controls, it's not opinion, it's a fact that it has mouse acceleration by default and that the mouse sensitivity is very limited, unless you change it on the config file.

Ahh, the educated response.
My suggestion to you: quit ♥♥♥♥♥ing, figure out what it is in your life that causes you to direct all of your anger at yourself towards some video game and random people online, and work to correct it.

Just because I used the word "idiots" it doesn't mean I'm angry. I was a bit annoyed though with the responses on this thread, since almost no one understood what I was talking about and suggested things like "buy a new mouse". If these people don't know enough about a subject then they shouldn't post on a thread about said subject. They will only be wasting other people's time.
