Hi Guys,

Found this article from February. Eurogamer interviewed an Obsidian staffer on Dungeon Siege 3.

http://www.vg247.com/2011/02/08/obsidian-talks-dungeon-siege-iiis-pc-centricity-stability-issues/

two quotes stood out:

“There are certain things that are more PC-centric,” he said. “The input and the controls lean more towards the PC."

Lol wtf you have to be kidding me? Was that staffer on crack?

and the very intriguing one......

“Players expect to be able to click and move their character around with the mouse and click on enemies. We’ll certainly have it control that way."

Well either that staffer was again on more crack, ill informed or the demo released to us does not contain the final PC control scheme. I'm hoping the later but with what I've seen so far I'm not holding my breath.

a patch has been released for the demo, maybe it includes those missing things like remapping/mouse-to-move etc

Nope it doesn't. I couldn't find any changes at all that pertain to controls and the camera system / keymappings are still exactly the same and non-mappable.

maybe you should make a post on the obsidian.net forums calling out the devs on this.

certainly isnt going to do any good here.

if they said mouse movement with clicking should be in there, then its only right to ask them why it isnt.

however i will add if they can patch a demo, then they can easily patch the full game. i cant remember a demo being patched, which shows they care in some regard for their game.

I can't for the life of me even work out exactly what the patch did, if anything.

When I saw Steam patching the game I thought our pleas about controls were heard. A pity.

im with you. hasnt done anything at all.

anti aliasing still isnt working on radeon cards. all the graphics options are the same, the resulting picture at max settings is just the same.

no additional options that i can see.

Interestingly enough, I took your advice, signed up to the Obsidian boards and posted the link to the article and asked the devs to comment on it. In less than 10 minutes my thread wasn't locked, it was completely removed. I cannot find it at all.

Was absolutely nothing attacking or aggressive about it at all.

Weird.

“Players expect to be able to click and move their character around with the mouse and click on enemies. We’ll certainly have it control that way."

thats the bit you want to concentrate your post on.

i would omit the link, and just say a obsidian developer said such and such. and see what you get then.

I focused on that one and quoted it in my post. I also linked to the article. Like I said, there is no sign of it. I just posted another thread asking why my post was removed and some dude stated it was added to another thread about pc control complaints, still can't find it though.

**nevermind, I found it, he was correct, it was within another thread.

A moderator merged it into another thread.

I like this part aswell

Obsidian’s last project was the near-proverbially unstable and buggy Fallout: New Vegas, and the studio is working to shuck that negative association.

GG lads.

Full game controls are the same as Demo, it REAAAAAALLLLLYY sucks! They HAVE to patch real PC controls or this game will be an epic fail. I'm so glad they released a Demo of this before release. Saved me some money.

The patch was for those who are having crashing issues. That’s it. I was at E3 and had a very lengthy discussion with the Lead developer of the game and the Director. Both are concerned about our comments and the lack of options in this game. I made it very clear to them that the lack of remapping keys; camera zooming and other issues were unacceptable. They said, they will look at fixing those issues. We will see!!!!

Honestly if there's a patch that fixes this and later it's changed so that classes aren't preset but instead depend on skills used as you progress this might actually be worthy of being called a Dungeon Siege game. Don't ever say I'm just an idle complainer! >:O
