So what did everyone think of Super 8?

I didn't think it was AMAZING but the humor with the kids and action was good enough to make it a watch.

I'll tell you in 2 months when it is released in the UK (probably why the review with the 'major spoilers' was removed)...

I just hope that I can avoid spoilers till then as this is about the only film coming out this year that actually seemed worth going to the cinema to see.

If it somehow gets spoiled for people outside of the US it wouldn't surprise me if it was a major box office flop, all because of terrible marketing decisions.

Not enough monster, too much kids filming. And the fact that it went home...I wanted it to be like Cloverfield, not ET.

I'd like to see it on Friday, when it premiers here, but I'm off to a music festival early in the morning and I won't be back until Sunday evening, knackered most likely. :(

The saddest thing about it is that it looks to be the one film this year that is really worth seeing on the big screen.
It is a really poorly judged release considering that it has been surrounded by so much secrecy.

It is going to be a task and a half to avoid spoilers for that long...

I thought it was awesome, great acting by the children in the cast, story was exciting, and the sci fi was a lot of fun. The monster was awesome. And no, that's not a spoiler, every trailer showed the door to the train busting off.
