I'm sure this is already on some peoples minds, so I'll pop the question and hope somebody has an answer. Are these Steam achievements only available to new player accounts?
I'm already a Champions Online player. I made a Gold account, then downloaded and installed the game directly off their website a couple weeks ago. Now I see this! A Steam client for Champions Online! With over 700 Steam achievements! I want! So, can I haz?
If I uninstall CO, then come here and grab CO off Steam, will my current CO account have access to Steam achievements? Or are these Steam achievements only available to new accounts?
P.S. Look it's my first post on Steam! Hello Steam!

You'll be able to get the achievements just fine, but at least for the moment, you'll have to re-earn any perks you've already gotten on new characters (or on existing ones that don't already have them) to get the achievements for them. I've been playing since it went F2P and I only have two achievements for perks I got last night, and not a good few hundred that I'd already unlocked ;_;

It won't retroactively update any Achievement you have already obtained previous to your Steam install, but it will tag all that you obtain from now on.
So, in my case I'll never get some 150-200 achievements via Steam, but I still have them all in game. And last night I tagged my first Steam achievement.

If this is not resolved I will have to do the first area again which took me a few hours... too bad. :-(

*Disclaimer: Some/All parts of this post are intended to be humorous. It is in no way meant to stir the pot and cause arguments*
Or you can just not worry about it as you're the only one who sees your achievements.
Or you can just make a new toon that offsets the abilities of the toon you already have.
I myself have about 12 toon's.
I don't expect any type of "resolution" because frankly it's not that important. It's not like you're paying anything to give them the money to pay a person to work it through.
Also, you have them in-game, so how many places do you really need to be told you completed them.
"But I just GOTTA have them here!!!11!!one!!" is called OCD and means you need to see a therapist. :D

How about you quit being a ****.

Wow, someone lost their sense of humor. lol relax bud. See the " :D "? Not everyone uses them sarcastically.
And yes, others CAN see your achievements, but the reality is that very few people care about anyone else's achievements. They care about their own and even compare them to the overall masses, but very very few actually go out of their way to look who else specifically has done what. That is just compounded with Champs because there are so many.

No reason to bash the guy. If he wants achievements, so what.
If you don't. Lay off.

wow, lol
I didn't bash anyone nor did I single anyone out, and your the one using the ****, not me.
Relax, it's just a game man. Lighten up a little.
Laugh a little man.
It's amazing how people project their own actions on to others and don't see what they have done.
Why so serious?

You need to take your own medicine before you push it off onto others. You are coming across very poorly and can't seem to accept it. I'm sure you'll continue to rationalize it away, but maybe someday you'll look back at this point in your life and realize that not everybody else was always wrong.
Achievements historically aren't 'resynced' if earned outside of Steam. I would like them to implement such a system across the board, for every game and every player (excepting Ragnokak, since he/she doesn't care).

Now that's just silliness. I'm not going to apologize because someone else doesn't get the humor or thinks that every post is an attempt to cause an argument.
I also never said anyone is wrong, but hey I guess at this point I'm just feeding the trolls so moving on....
Just for the record though, I would prefer they sync the achievements, but like Protoss, I'll sadly just have to go back and do them again.
Also for the record, I'm an Achevo junkie myself so I'm poking fun at myself too.

No you should get them I think or some at least.
I don't know for sure but I played through the whole tutorial before it came on steam and I got some of those related achievements when I logged in with Steam afterwards at millennium city

Its worth giving a try you might just get them:) You still use your existing account to login btw and that will have access to achievements.
By the way welcome to the steam forums. This is a good place:D

I'm not getting any unlocked, at all.
Edit: Following atari's toubleshooting instructions, I set the launcher and game as 'rund as administrator'. That was preventing Steam from injecting its overlay.
I had to 'solve' the problems myself manually ¬¬...

This sucks then. I just went through Steam, and it's not like I can go back and redo all the anniversary achievements.
There really needs to be a way to sync achievements to your Steam account.
