Spiral Knights never closes

So I DLed Spiral Knights today, great game, played for a good 3 hours, and ran out of Mist Energy like most people would after 3 hours, after closing it (pressing quit and everything shutting down, little icon disappearing, steam window taking it out of windows currently open, all of it.) I played some other games for a bit, and decided to get off of steam (I always quit steam fully after using it, my comp doesn't run well with it constantly on.), but when I clicked Quit it said that I need to close spiral knights before I can quit steam, even though it was completely off.

I then tried relogging into spiral knights then quitting, afterwards it just became more ambiguous with the "One or more steam applications are currently running" message, once again preventing me from shutting off steam, is anyone else have this problem? And do they have a solution?

Make sure your Java software is up to date as I believe this game runs on Java.

Should it keep happening press CTRL Shift Escape and close java processor.

You will have to copy-paste a Java update as outlined here (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1930953) as Spiral Knights from steam comes with it's own distribution.

Go into task manager and close javaw.exe or spiralknights.exe
