View Full Version : "You have been disconnected from the server".

All I get is "you have been disconnected from the server". Looked around (and thinking are there any games that "just work" anymore...) and see some info on Linksys routers, oh joy... So I tried setting my IP for DMZ, and still no go...

Any ideas? :)

What kind of router are you guys using?
The Linksys WRT54G and anything in its series that is version 5+ just doesn't have firmware support for this game.
DD-WRT or a new router is the only solution until SK releases a patch--and their devs ARE working on a fix for this.

I am on a Linksys/Cisco WRT54G2 V1 router, Firmware Version: 1.0.04(build 5) released on 07/08/2009. Not many updates sadly enough :(

Yeah, that router just doesn't want to work with the game. Something about its firmware doesn't play nice with a relatively recent patch. You can try installing alternate firmware (DD-WRT for example) or you can wait for the SK devs to fix the problem.

Thank you InterrobangCat, I got a little excited today when I logged into Steam and launched the game and it started patching. Same issue tho sadly enough. Will keep my fingers crossed!

You can't install/use dd-wrt or tomato custom firmwares on the newer versions of the router (V5 and up) because of their limited ram.
