CoCmainwin32.exe has stopped working.

I'm trying to play this in 64 bit Windows 7, and I keep getting "Cocmainwin32.exe has stopped working" crashes. Haven't even managed to make it through the prologue; first one happened as soon as I finished talking to the cop the first time and was given control of my character. Reloaded, made it past that point, crashed again entering the house. Reloaded again, made it into the house a bit, now it's crashing every single time I try to go down the trap door into the basement. Four times in a row so far, apparently I just can't get past that point.

Any ideas on what I can do about this?

Same problem.. I tried running as administrator and with XP compatibility mode, but nothing helped. Wat do?

I fixed this problem on my machine (Windows 7, 64 bit) and the game seems to be running fine now. The opening videos aren't compatable with 64-bit operating systems. When the game tries to load them, they crash. To fix it, do everything mentioned in this post -> (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2067994) then, after pressing the "reset to default button", check the "auto skip all startup videos" box, then press save. The game should load up fine. ^_^
