at least when i click on unlockable missions, it tells me its mission 7. if no help, its the mission were you have you eliminate as many enemies as possible. right after the mission were you have to escort the hacker dave in to the room.
i hope this will help.

so, my problem is, that i just cant finish off this damn mission. i tried it out at least 20 ♥♥♥♥ing times, and my unit pretty much dies already in the first turn. every ♥♥♥♥ing time my unit are pretty much placed right in front if the enemies that i cant even move them in to a safe location, nor they even have a damn chance to shoot them.
the damn sniper even hits my unit when they are ducked behind cover and the grenadeguy grenades seem to kill my unit also behind walls. and the funny thing is, the walls dont even get destroyed.
i can see my self lucky when i can kill one of them. sometimes when my unit faces a enemy, they just freeze for few secs before they start shooting. so in that time the enemy killed them.
when i press the play button, things seem to work out nicely. i always give the orders where the enemy might be walking too. most of the times i do get it right, just that they dont bother to shoot, even when given the order they should shoot.

so either i missed out on something with the controls or i always select the wrong orders.
i always select "shoot on sight", aim in the direction they should shoot when i know they will see for 100% an enemy. duck before or when they reach the cover. it all works fine just that at times my unit either never shoots or need 3 secs before shooting.

thanks for the help.

If you find your units are freezing up unexpectedly rather than following your commands, you may need to tell them to either "continue on sight" or to ignore a certain enemy. Your units WILL stop moving to target something they see, even if they're out of range (in which case, they won't fire), so a large part of the strategy involved is making sure they don't get distracted while trying to execute your commands.

I'm no expert, but it sounds like that might help you out here. I hope it does! ;)

The one with some random Tech's running around/'The Studio: Clearance'? That's number 8 I believe (counting from the 'play unlocked missions' menu). If you give me a 'seed' you've played, I can give that specific version a shot.

First thing, you need to read the manual (hit that question mark in the corner from the main menu), especially the 'principles of combat' section. Not trying to be a tool, but understanding the basic mechanics is hugely important in this game. Take a look at this thread (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1924353) too. Lot's of good tips.

Keep in mind, excluding grenadiers and rockets, you are not telling your guys to shoot, you're telling them where to move and look. When a unit sees an enemy in range, it stops moving and a timer starts. When the timer runs out, the target is killed. Ducking is only useful to hide behind low cover. It doesn't improve your aim, and changing stance actually makes it worse for a second. Grenades also do notgo through walls. Make sure you zoom in- the map is in 3D and the perspective can be a little confusing at times.

Your units WILL stop moving to target something they see, even if they're out of range (in which case, they won't fire), so a large part of the strategy involved is making sure they don't get distracted while trying to execute your commands.

This. MG's are the worst for it. They can actually shoot across the entire map, but it takes them a long time at long range. Imagine you have a bunch of dumb robots running around, not little 1337 Counterstrike players.

ok, i will give it a try. as long my units are not placed right in front of the enemies that i cant even move them.
i only use duck when they right in front of a cover. so i know they cant shoot.
the grenades dont go through walls, but the explosion goes through them and kills my unit. but the funny thing is, even when a machingunner sees an enemy who is right in fornt of him, they still dont shoot.

maybe its mission 8. its actually stupid it never tells you in what mission you are. yes, you have some civilians running around. and the enemies have 1 grenadier, 1 sniper and at least 3 machingunners.
wile you have 3 machingunners and 1 shutgunner who is always at the other end of the map.
so i read the other thread you gave me and i will try it that way. i guess i just dint understand the controls properly yet.
i will use the question mark in hope it will help me. i never pressed V before. maybe this will help.

thanks for the help

ok, i finally managed this mission. worked out in the first time. i guess the map layout was more convenient so i dint lose any units.
the next mission i just lost the gunner and collected the keys with the grenadier wile the sniper provided really good cover.
but true, the machine gunner really takes its time to shoot wile other classes do it quickly.

but sometimes the outcome is so different then what it shows you before. the enemy rocket shot at my machine gunner wile the machine gunner was shooting at the rocket guy (already had contact, started shooting already just when the turn was over). by pressing the play button, the rocket did hit near my gunner but dint kill him. wile my gunner killed the rocket guy. but the outcome was totally different. my gunner died from the rocket.

sometimes really weird. but well, i manged it and still enjoy the game.
