This question is directed to all the Champions Online veterans. Do you guys see this game lasting long enough that a Lifetime subscription would be worth it? Is there enough content to justify it also?
Right now it's $299, so that's about 2 and half years worth of monthly payments. I like the game enough to pay for gold membership and possibly the lifetime, but it doesn't matter much if it doesn't look like the game will last enough to pay itself off.

I believe there is a 20% discount on lifetime subs this weekend.
Now would be a good time to buy one if you're considering it.
Im a Lifetimer since Start of the Game. I bought it for i think 179,- € in that Time. I´ve played the Game a long Time but there is not nearly the Content for 2.5 Years. Believe me. I played all in all around 500h.
The Basic thing is the Character Creator. That Thing is really great. For me actually there was 'new' Content for maybe 2-3 Months. After that i´ve started twinking. My Advice: don´t do it. Not for 300 Bucks. Play for free or invest the Money in Star Trek Online. The better Choice in Cryptic Games.

In comparison, I've been a Vanguard since pre-order and I still don't have a level 40 toon (I will after this week though). I've never joined a Super Group even. Yet I wholeheartedly would say that the $200USD I spent some 2+ years ago was worth every single dime.
I've been able to come and go as I pleased and with the way Adventures Packs are built, you don't really miss out on anything or ever feel like you have been left behind. I've had to do a little power research to see how things had been updated, but that's why they have Wiki's.

I can't say that you will never get tired of it or find enough content to keep you playing for 2.5 years, but perfect world must bought cryptic, so it won't be closing down anytime soon I think.
It's also nice to be able to leave and come back anytime you want and still have all your stuff there and a pile of free cash shop points waiting to be spent.
There are some people that have been playing from beta/release up until now -straight without stopping. I don't think I have seen more than a handful of people out of the hundreds or thousands that bought it, regretting the purchase. (based on official forum chat)

These were basically the same questions that I was going to ask. A look at the F2P Matrix helped even more! All those character slots... And with so many different ways to play, that certainly ought to help replayability. I am considering this, but I think that $308 CAD is a bit too much. >.>

Wow so they've gone up since the original $200. I'm bias since I payed the $200 I was then thinking they'd get the 360 version going and of course M$ ruined that. Frankly try it out for a few months before you spend the up front money on a lifetime sub.

Where did you see that?
An extra note about character slots for gold and lifetime subscribers:
Every time you get a character to lvl 40 (max lvl) as a gold or lifetime subscriber, you get a free bonus character slot. So if you can focus on a few characters at a time you can technically go forever without having to purchase any extra character slots.
And I'm one of those people thats been playing since mid beta non stop and don't regret my time or money investment. Sadly I couldn't afford a lifetime sub back then (or now for that matter), however I've had a discounted rate of basically $10 a month since release (pay $30 once every 3 months).
Every now and then they offer the discounted multi month rates again, if you're not sure about the lifetime or can't afford a large sum of money up front like me, I'd suggest jumping on the discounted subscription rates when/if their offered again. They were last offered when the free client was released as a sort of reboot to the franchise.
