According to GameStop, BF3 will not be sold on Steam. And unless the DLC issue is resolved with Crysis 2, that won't be on Steam either.

Not turning their back? Psh... I'll be buying the physical version of BF3.

Seems they did turn their back on Steam, this topic is void.

Seems to me that what EA wants it to 'sell' something as close as possible to game demos in other systems, and keep updates and DLCs that make the game more complete only to their systems.

If I have to get the updates and DLCs through other means, then having them on Steam doesn't change much.

They may fool other distribution systems, but they won't fool Valve so easily.

They removed Dragon Age 2. While that isn't a bad thing (bad game), I don't like the idea of them removing titles from Steam.

From what I understand the physical version of BF3 will require origin. Personally I am staying away from the title. While I might rent it on the console.. I am not going to buy the game at all. I have a higher chance of getting the newest CoD, and considering I don't own the last few CoD titles.. lol.

They are blaming Steam/Valve for it..
