That was on the PC(Demo)/PS3 PlayStation Store, except in space?

If it is then I am buying.

It sort of is.
The difference being that the game is not divided into "stages" as flow. Solar 2 is more of a sandbox with missions you can fulfill scattered throughout the game world.

And, there is no motion control. ;)

They are comparable on some levels. I remember that in Flow you played a single creature that attacked and ate others to grow larger and larger, eventually attacking the end boss.

Solar 2 is similar - you start as a small asteroid, and you grow by merging with other asteroids to form a planet. From there on you absorb more asteroids to form a star, and eventually you become a planet which can capture and orbit other planets. The planets themselves will evolve and create life, which will actively attack non-aligned solar system.

There are some differences though:
- Flow was level-based. Solar 2 is an entirely open sandbox.
- Flow is all about attacking and growing. In solar 2 large system attacks often cause more damage then growth - which means that it takes more nurturing for your " Creature" (Planets).

And of course realize that it are two different games. The concepts are comparable, but the gameplay is naturally different. But try the demo! You can grow up to a first-level star, so the only gameplay elements you will miss are larger stars, missions and black holes. Essentially you can try everything, except that you are limited a tad in growth.

The similarity isn't a coincidence, one of the main inspirations for Solar 2 was flOw :)
