How do you grow from Small to Medium star? Getting planets doesn't accomplish it, crashing into anything seems to reduce the size. I'm playing the demo btw.

In the demo you're limited to Small star. You'll have to buy the full game to be able to evolve to Medium star and beyond.

Let me extend the question to the full game then. I've been quite perplexed as to how to increase the small star's mass.

I'm sitting on 2 atm and there will be more very soon; but I can't figure out for the life of me how to increase a star's mass.

Increase a star's mass by absorbing planets using space bar. Much in the same way as planets must absorb asteroids to increase mass, the star must absorb planets.

You need to absorb your planets; there's one key (I'm using a gamepad, so I have no idea which key that would be) that always absorbs the smallest thing in the system, i.e. it'll absorb asteroids into planets first and when there's no asteroids left it'll absorb the smallest planet into your smallest star.
