View Full Version : Is this worth it for Daily Deal snipers?

How is this daily deal compared to the usual ones? On its own I'm sure its worth $5 but if I followed that logic I'd end up spending $100 a month and nothing to show for it but a large backlog.

I snapped up VVVVVV earlier and loved it. Almost picked up Monday Night Combat before checking out what it was. Since I'm not a massive multiplayer gamer on account of not having time, I realized I would never ever play it after the 1st 2 hours.

TLDR: Is this a good DAILY deal or should I save for another day?

The Overlord games are quality products that i would still feel comfortable paying $15 for the set. I played 1 and 2 when they came out on a friends console and was quick to snag the complete pack today.

a total bargain for anyone with even a slight interest. It would be hard to not get $5 of enjoyment out of these games.

Overlord 2 is a lot of fun, great gameplay, amazing graphics and very funny.

I paid £35 for this when it was first released. It was an instant buy as I loved and completed Overlord 1, which also was brilliant.

So for £1.75 I would say its a steal and a game not to be missed.

Its style of gameplay I would say is very simular to Pikmin, but instead of plants you have demons and imps for completing various situations.

Highly Recommended.

I only played the first so far and I can say it's very worth even its full price.
Really original game, fun and long lasting compared to the majority of other games.

hi i didnt want to make a new thread seeing as though theres already a few.

I'm mostly interested in multiplayer. So my question is basically does this game have a good multiplayer and is the MP active?

PS: I love these daily deals got dirt1 and new vegas 2 already =D

You got me on the Pikmin part. I wasn't sure about getting this, but when you said it's similar to Pikmin, I decided to go ahead and give it a try. Actually I'm going to let my son try it. He loves the Pikmin games, and so hopefully he'll enjoy this one as well.

I was still on the fence. Glad I held out though. Today's deal looks better IMO. I like adventure point and clicks. I'm sure Overlord will pop up in the deals again. Pretty sure I wouldn't have had time to play it anytime soon anyway.

Thanks for the inputs everyone.

I don't get why people are so reluctant to spend 5 dollars on 2 games and an expansion (and 2 games that both scored 80 on metacritic, so they are at least critically lauded).

You can't even get a McDonalds value meal for 5 dollars.

Yet there are 1,000 "is it worth it" threads asking if these games are worth 5 dollars.

Seriously, it's just 5 dollars. It's not like you're buying a ♥♥♥♥ing car or something.

Just buy it (of course it's too late now as the deal is over, but this rant is just for future reference).

Ya'll are spoiled by steam.

Back in my day (the ancient times of the mid 1990s) you'd be lucky to find a ♥♥♥♥ second rate game for 15 dollars in a bargain bin at a store somewhere. And that was in 1990s dollars.

I would have ♥♥♥♥ myself if I had access to the sorts of deals that steam offers back when I was 12.

Colorado, maybe you don't remember having a budget for games when you were 12. Maybe you were spoiled as a child, I don't know. If you bothered reading my original post, you'd see I acknowledge that it is a good game on its own.

But tell me this... do you buy every game/dvd that is in the bargain bin?
I don't. I make choices based on the fact that I have a limited amount of money to spend on certain things. As much as it kills me when I see good games in the bargain bin, I have to pick only 1-2.

Perhaps I'm also cynical but when I see a game deep discounted, I question its value. There is a reason I never eat McDonalds, even though its cheap.
MNC was offered before this and I considered it before realizing that its a multiplayer game and appeared to struggle with populating servers.

P.S. I also wanted to get input from fellow bargain hunters. The usual "Is it worth it" threads are full of fans promoting the game since they are posted in that particular forum or guys like you chiding us for not spending a measly $5. Likewise, the "Most regrettable purchase" is too large for me to sift through.

Thanks for your "unique" opinion.

Both Overlord and Overlord 2 are thoroughly amusing games that I have played through many times. Id recommend them to anyone with a sense of humor and perhaps a sadistic side. They truly are a lot of fun, and though they don't provide infinite game play (It takes me 17 hours to complete the first one) they are worth the few buck you need to buy them. If you are only picking one, Id start with the first.
