EU3 Chronicles flat map

Hi there.

I've just purchased EU3 Chronicles and I've noticed the map is flat, a la Vicky2.

I'd never played eu3 before except for the demo, but as far as I can remember the map used to have 3d terrain elevation and trees.

Yes it was elevated "3D" but the latest expansion includes a redone map. There are still trees, just not in 3D (look at France).

Well, yes, trees are still there, but it's just a texture. I had no idea they went Vicky2-esque with the EU3 map.
Seems silly to me, I enjoyed the way the map looked. And the water!

Is there any way to go back to using the original type of map?

I'm not sure if anyone has modded the old map back into Divine Wind. The only mod I found was just another re-texture of the DW flat map. You could try asking on the official EUIII forums on the Paradox Interactive forums. I'm sure someone there may know how to replace the new map with the old map - but I'm sure doing so may break DW as the new re-textured map adds new provinces etc.
