I just had to mention a game that is still going on...has been for 5 minutes even on the fastest speed. It's the classic map & rules with 5 players (me and 4 AI). Two of the AI and myself lost so now it's just two of them. When they turn in some cards they are getting like 150 units, but they still can't beat the other player. Why?
Because the stupid AI puts them all on one country and attacks...when it takes over a continent it reinforces it with like 100 units then takes the remaining units and attacks a few more countries then stops at like 7 units. I mean one of the AI had 100 units on Brazil for the last 5 rounds surrounded by all of its own units so it was completely useless. Red had 101 on Indonesia up until Black took Australia and left it's own 75 units on New Guinea.
The AI was also stopping after taking a continent and not even trying to prevent the other AI from owning a continent for their next draft. The sad thing is that this could have been a good game that brought families together at their computers. Instead it creates frustration and annoyance and produces family get-togethers that involves yelling and swearing and bad feelings. EA is causing so much conflict now in the gaming world that they are totally doomed. They have been bailed out repeatedly in the past, but I think they are soon to end...nobody is going to want to buy them even for $1,000...everyone is going to want EA to die. Investors will not continue to throw money at a company that continues to produce crappy products and make outrageous attempts at taking over an intire industry using broken contracts with other companies as their stepping stones. EA still has a place in my heart for Bard's Tale but that's the end of it...they have been steadily going downhill from then on...even Bard's Tale 2 was less than desired and had lots of problems. I just hope they go peacefully, but I doubt it...more than likely they will try to take others down with them.
