Can't save demo games and thus transfer them to full version. . . .

I'm a bit put off by this.

I know it didn't take me THAT long to get to a small star, but it'd make the decision to buy the full version a lot easier if I didn't have to repeat my progress. :\

Not sure if you've noticed this, but if you've made it to the star stage once, you can just go to the Basic Respawn menu to respawn as a star. Only takes a couple of clicks.

Well if he can't save the game then he won't of unlocked the Basic Respawn screen if he starts again :)

But yeah, this was a bit of an oversight on my part. I should of made it the other way round, allowing saving and restricting loading.

Isn't the info on which stages you've unlocked independent of the savegames? At least I thought it was - any stage I've unlocked has immediately become available to all of my saved systems, and I'm pretty sure I've been able to do a Basic Respawn without having any saved systems.

Then again, I only played the demo for like 10 minutes before buying the full game, so there may be restrictions I'm not aware of.

"Saved Systems" are not "Save Files", which seems to confuse people. Saved Systems are a group of save slots for saving your ingame solar system (or whatever) and are part of a save game, they don't actually represent an entire save game.

Okay, so it's like I thought - saved systems are just one part of the saved information, and independent of other information like unlocked stages, mission progress etc.

So if I understand you correctly, the problem isn't necessarily that the demo doesn't allow saving systems, but that the demo doesn't save any information whatsoever about the player's progress, including unlocked stages? If so, couldn't you just enable the saving of unlocked stages in the demo? So that if someone unlocks the star stage and then buys the full game, they can just do a Basic Reswpawn as a star and continue from there.

I'm sorry but if you enable saving why would someone buy the game? He could have most of the experience from a demo. Unless you allow saving but only allow growth up to a small star.

Don't know never had the demo. The game is so cheap it's not like you risk losing a lot of money.

That's very true. Anyway, from what I remember of the demo, it was limited to small star, so I don't see a problem with allowing system saves.
