I just got the platinum edition and it came preloaded with a campaign called Dark Waters. When I try to run this, I get an error saying that it cannot load due to missing talk tables. Anyone know how to remedy this? I could not find it on a search.

Also I cannot get any sound other than basic stereo. I have a 5.1 system, but the game does not show SB under the audio settings, and each setting there only gives me stereo sound (no sound coming out of my rear speakers at all). Any advice?

I did not know Dark Waters was included with official content, since it's not. It's a work created by an community member.

I do not know why or how your game came 'preloaded' with Dark Waters, as that is a user created module, and not distributed with the game. In any event, you can download an installer for the module here: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=NWN2ModulesEnglish.Detail&id=376

Also, if you cannot get Dark Waters to work for some reason, don't fret, as there are hundreds of Modules online that you can download and play after you are done the SP campaign: http://nwvault.ign.com/fms/TopRated.php?content=nwn2modulesenglish

You can edit your NWN2.ini file to output 5.1 sound, but make sure you have your speaker system set up in Windows properly first.

NWN2.ini file:

Speaker Type=0

This setting controls the speaker configuration used for sound playback in the game. The default option of 0 is for 2/2.1 speakers; a value of 1 is Surround, 2 is for Headphones, 3 for 4.1 speakers, 4 for 5.1 speakers, and 5 for 7.1 speakers. Set to match your speaker system. If in doubt, leave it at the default of 0.

tl;dr - change the 0 value to a 4, and you should be all set.

Well, Dark Waters *did* indeed come with the game that I bought here on Steam. I just bought the Platinum Edition, and there it was (although it doesn't work). I didn't download anything other than the Platinum Edition, through Steam.

Thank you for the links, and for the info about getting the sound to work properly, I will check it out once I get home from work!

I have the Steam Platinum edition, and it did not come with Dark Waters, and Atari / Obsidian et all would get in trouble if they did package it, Dark Waters not being official content and all.

Of course I did find this "Platinum Edition" that was packaged with Dark Waters.

The conclusion should be pretty obvious.

Well I don't know that the "obvious" conclusion you have come to is! I just bought the platinum edition THIS WEEKEND, and it was on there! I didn't buy or download anything else from anywhere else.

Ah I see now, you are trying to imply that I stole it from somewhere? Well you are wrong, I bought it here. Anyone from Steam is welcome to view my account for proof if they want to. Here is a copy/paste from my account but I doubt that will prove anything to you since you seem to already know everything:

Whatever you *think*, I just BOUGHT the game, DARK WATERS IS ON IT.

Perhaps you should contact Steam support and ask them how they packaged a community made non official module to you. Adding content to the Steam store download doesn't happen accidentally. Nor is Dark Waters advertised as content on the Steam store page for NWN2. So somehow you got this as part of your Steam download, please contact them, I am sure they will want to know so they can remove it from the Steam download for legal reasons.

Ok so, we figured out the answer and I feel compelled to explain since SOMEONE is calling me a theif. Apparenly my boyfriend bought and installed the game some years ago when it came out on the computer that I now use. I guess when he uninstalled the game, there was a folder in "my documents" with that module left still in it. Apparently that is the default place where they go, so when I installed the game it was just there. I don't know anything about mods, and when I ran the game it was there so I thought it was supposed to be there. I bought it, and I resent being called a theif. But there is your explanation. /kisses
