Alright, as the title says this post is a last resort for me. I have tried many of the fixes that seem to relate to my dual problem, sound issue and a very odd crash.
To make a long story short I believe I have fixed the sound issue, my first problem. I just have to play with my headphones/microphone in. Bioshock is able to boot and play without changing any boot features or compatibility.
The second problem was happening while I was fixing the sound issue as well as after the headphone/mic fix. The problem happens as I am swimming to Rapture, the game crashes just my monitor. Whether the nature of the crash matters or not, I realize my computer is still running and I receive a "no signal input" on my monitor. I usually restart, but sometimes I have to do a hard shutdown. I have tried some of the previous fixes with my headphones in, but it still crashes. I realize the crash could still be sound related, but I am not sure. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated and I have current video drivers.
