Yay or nay? I played the first one and didn't get into it much. I hear the second one is a lot better and it's cheap. Is it worth $6.79?

It's worth full price.
Totally. The difference from AC2 to AC1 is huge, amazing, insanely big, way way better. And the same amazing thing happens with AC:B compared to AC2. I don't know how, but even when you think the game can't get better, ubisoft made the sequel MUCH better.

There are a lot of problems with it for a few people. Make sure you have a great graphics card.

I was able to play the game fine with an 8800gt and a Core 2 E8400.
To the OP, the game is fantastic, everything that was wrong with the first one has been fixed. It's definitely worth the sale price.

Is Brotherhood is much better/different than AssCreed 2?
AC2 was great, but after 20 hours, it grinded a little.

The first one had some great elements, like morally ambiguous characters but had horrible gameplay - AC2 is the other way around, it has fun gameplay, but shallow characters.

Assassin's Creed 2 US = 6.75$
Assassin's Creed 2 EU = 10.20€(15$)
I have no comment.

As long as you can run it, you should get it.
The main problem people had with ACI was that it was repetitive. If that was your problem, ACII will fix it. If instead you disliked the combat or platforming or stealth or whatever, ACII is the same.
I really enjoyed the first one, buying the second one right now, i hope its as good as everyone says it is. I'd go for Brotherhood, but it doesn't meet my discout/price requirements. I'm sure it'll get a lot cheaper by x-mas.

The missions in AC1 are totally mind-numbing. I only played AC because I really liked AC2 and wanted to see the predecessor. Even then, I speedran through AC1 using my leet pro skillz.
how about II VS Brotherhood (aside from the price difference) ?

I rented ACI for 360 back in the day and after beating it, I considered it one of my favorite games of all time. It went on sale on Steam for $5 a few years back and so I bought it and played it again, and enjoyed it just as much as the first time.
Yeah, it's repetitive, but it's repeating stuff that's fun.
At least for me.

Bought AC Brotherhood now, but had already played on a friend's PS3. Very similar to AC II, with some new features, like weapons, enemies, etc. My impression was that AC II has longer game time (I finished it in around 26hs, no rushing); take in mind that the Steam version for this one already includes the dlc, so for the current price, Valve is basically gifting you. Have no idea about Brotherhood multiplayer, though.
Overall, ACII seems to have more variety, especially by the fact it sports various cities (Florence, Venice, etc.), while in Brotherhood you're restricted to Rome. My advice is that you read the reviews and decide which you prefer.
One last thing: I've seem some people complain that AC games wouldn't fit the computer gaming, with mouse and keyboard, but i assure you that a controller is unecessary, both AC I and II are among the best PC ports i've seen.

AC 1 is also a good game, it can be repetitive, but since I always try to complete games 100% I don't mind the grind. :)

Could you finish Far Cry 2. Now THAT game is a grind.
30 hours of 1 mission type. Drive there. Kill everybody.
