View Full Version : How do certain dynamics work in coop? (stores, cribs, unlocks etc)

Hello all,

Can anybody tell me how coop play deals with certain game features?

For example, if I'm playing coop with somebody and I buy a store and we both save, do we then both keep the store?

What about crib customisation and unlocks?

Just a bit confused on how these would work (if at all) can anybody outline it for me?

Thank you

Only the host can buy stores or customize cribs.

When you do a mission or activity together then both of you get the unlocks. The exception to that rule is if the host is further ahead in that particular gang arc. If he is, then the client does not get the unlock or mission credit. That's why it's usually a good idea for the person who is further behind to be the one to host.

All other customization and diversions are specific to that player who does them. Either player can buy clothes, customize cars, etc and they are saved to your individual wardrobe/garage. You also keep all the money you earn.

Your single player save can be used in coop and back. You do not need a separate save.

Thanks IdolNinja. And thank you for your modding work on Gentlemen.. and Powertools. Me and my Bro have just bought the game and those are the first things we got setup (he's win 7).

So if I buy a store/customise crib in single player and then load that save file when I join his coop, those customisations and stores will not load with me?

We're only progressing missions together so hopefully we'll never have the arcing problem. He typically hosts as he has a much beefier rig.

When you do an activity, like crowd control, the other player is offered to join in. We always have so far but what happens if one of us says no? Is the coop session over or does the refusing player just get left in the city to wait and do as they please? Same question applies to multiple, seperate activities.

thanks again

Correct. Your stores and crib customization will not load with you. You'll be seeing everything the host has done with his crib.

If you cancel, then the mission doesn't start for either of you, and you simply continue in the open world. Activities work the same way.

Diversions are a bit different though and you can start those separately. For example, if you start a race, it will ask him if he wants to join. If he refuses then only you will run the race while he does his thing somewhere else. Other diversions like base jumping, taxi service, ambulance, fire fighting, vehicle surfing, drive-bys, streaking, flashing, etc are only for one player. You can simply start them and your partner won't even get a prompt while you carry on and do them. He'll see you doing them, but he won't get the HUD or a prompt to participate or anything.

Thanks again Idol. I see you are supporting this game single-handedly now! Volition owe you a pay cheque ;)
