How buggy is it?

How well is this game supported? I know this type of games can be pretty complex and tend to be a bit buggy.

I used to play Space Empires IV many years ago and and while it was pretty rough and buggy, the developer was good a patching it regularly.

Is this game still supported or at least is it at a stage where there are no outstanding issues?

It's extremely polished atm. It's normally not uncommon to see new content added for free fairly often. Presently Arcen is focusing it's efforts developing their new game AVWW but AI War is by no means forgotten - expect great support for a long time.

Beta patches might be buggy and some stuff may be unbalanced, but release patches are polished. You can report/suggest stuff on their mantis tracker aswell.

I see no problem with the current whatsoever, and significant problems are usually ironed out ASAP when an issue is discovered. It has been on a polished and stable version for a long while now, so no worries on something like the Magicka syndrome.
