Been eyeing this for a while, and have wanted it to come out for the PS3, but it sadly never has come out.

My question is this; I've been looking on the forums and a lot of people seem to be playing this with an Xbox 360 controller or something else running into their computer. Does the game NEED a controller in order to play well, and if it does how does one go about setting this up?

No.. it plays fine without one.. Try the demo if your worried.

But I do prefer pad with this game because of the game play style. One of them games you just want to sit back and enjoy.

Nope just fine with M/kb. you can change all the key bindings to suit your taste.

If you have a wired 360 controller, that's ideal, but TLR can be played well enough with a mouse and keyboard. You can customize the buttons on both the keyboard and controller.

Can't really understand why you'd need a wired controller. I have a PC receiver for my wireless controllers. I think one of those can handle even 4 controllers at the same time.

I've used both and I actually like the mouse/keyboard better. It will be a little bit harder to learn because all the on-screen prompts tell you what controller button to push but it's not like this is a massively complex game. You can always write down the rarely used ones.

I used my 360 controller only because it allowed me to kick back with my feet up while I played. I have a 40 lcd for a screen, so any time I can sit back without K/M I will.

U can change that ... the promts you see are what you specify in ...

(From the title screen) Settings/Gamepad (4th on the top)/Change "Key Signal Display" to "Keyboard"

Because apparently this game doesn't respond very well (if at all) to wireless controllers. I'm having issues with my wireless 360 gamepad at the moment. Wish I would have known about that before I made the purchase.

Proper port my ♥♥♥...

Nothing to do with "port".

The wireless pad has NEVER worked 100% in all games, including the Games For Windows titles.

Blame Microsoft.

Yet it works fine in 99% of Windows games. I blame poor foresight and ignorance on the part of developers.

I've yet to have an issue with any game that supports the 360 controller with my wireless gamepad. My wireless gamepad has worked flawlessly in every game I've used it for.

Same here. Not a single issue.

Well I started playing this game recently and after tons of play tweaking and testing the first level I came to the conclusion that no this isn't a very good game to play with Keyboard and mouse. I am not saying that it isn't playable but the entire game is clearly made to use a controller. The thing that bothered me most is that there is no freaking mouse cursor in the game! Not even for the menus, so I'm left trying to navigate everything having to use the directional keys as the mouse only moves the camera if set in the game's options. I gave up after a while and decided to use my Wires Xbox360 controller and everything just plays out naturally, I figured out the controller layout in the first minutes of playing.

For what it’s worth, and given a choice, I nearly always prefer a mouse and keyboard but in my opinion, this game is much easier to play with an xbox controller.
