So I've been playing CS:S at 1360x768 my entire life. I came back to the game after a month or so and now whenever I try to render at 1360x768 on my 16:9 monitor (native resolution of 1920x1080) the game letter boxes. I set my desktop resolution to 1360x768, and it too letter boxes. I'm using an Nvidia GTX 460se and 275.33 drivers. I cannot change the stretch position manually on my monitor (it is greyed out) so it seems like the Nvidia drivers are the problem. Anyone know how to get rid of letter boxes (also known as black bars)?

Why don't you run at native? That card is more than capable.

I don't run at native because I've always played CS at that resolution and I'd rather not change it at this point, messes with my aim.

I'm guessing it also runs the game much faster, but i dont know if thats a issue :)
anyway I've also had problems like that in the past when some resolutions are not supported on the games I play. I never found a fix for it... but that doesn't mean there isn't one, just a thought though (if ya using windows 7) try right click desktop and click screen resolution, then click advanced settings, then Monitor tab and try check hide modes that this monitor cannot display. just a random guess. also check to see if your monitor has a built in one. I brought a Radeon card after and then it was never a problem any more :p
