Per title, this is a joke I bought the full pack and out of 20 games only 6 work meaning 70% of them do not work at all.

The games in question are

7 Wonders II
7 Wonders Treasures of Seven
Little Farm
Luxor
Luxor 2
Luxor 3
Luxor Mahjong
Luxor Amun Rising
Luxor Quest for the Afterlife
Midnight Mysteries
The Office (says needs 98SE)
Reaxxion
Samantha Swift Golden Touch
Samantha Swift Hidden Roses

How do I get a refund? I have contacted support, I think, but the page isn't very clear and it just ended up showing me a reply page, of which I don't want to reply as I just want a refund.

If only 1 or 2 games didn't work I suppose I wouldn't mind, but for 14 out of 20 not to work, that's a bit too much to accept.

FYI I am on win7 pro x64 not that it should make a difference as it isn't said that I cannot run them when purchasing.

I don't know about the other games listed, but I have the physical game of "Midnight Mysteries" (bought for my mother lol) and when she's here she plays it without problems on my computer (Win7/64bit), so I guess it's a Steam game issue. -? (or could be your other stats perhaps - ?)

If it were me, I'd follow through with Steam Support, the first message is always an auto-response, but they will get in touch with you (I've never waited more than 1 day) and then you can explain your problems with a person and maybe get them (games) working and discuss if all else fails a refund, but I wouldn't hold my breath, they happen rarely, but it's not impossible.

Good Luck. :)

Most of them not working because of virus, true story. I emailed MumboJumbo and said not ! Big problem is with AVG or similar. Sometimes sudden it will work again.

I've just tried running Luxor 2 now and it gives me the same windows 98SE bs, but I've found the way around it by setting the compatibility of steam.exe to Windows Vista SP2. The game works perfectly after that.

I have played almost all of those on my Vista 64 system.

3 days later and still had no reply from Steam for my support question regarding this. Maybe its time to do a chargeback :(

Only had 1 issue like this before and that was the ID pack years ago, that was refunded within 12hours.

9 days later and still no reply from steam or valve support. I have now passed this over to my credit card company who are only to happy to persue this :)

The only one's that didn't work on my system (Win 7) was 7 wonders 2 and the office (which says it doesn't work with win7 in the description), sent a support issue to mumbo Jumbo they emailed me the working version of 7 wonders 2 (steam's isn't the latest version apparently).

All the games flag in AVG as a virus, but according to Mumbo Jumbo these are false positive.

A lot of these don't have the latest patches, my guess is MumboJumbo never bothered to send them to Steam, which can only put up what the publisher gives them. Finding said patches appears to be harder than it should be, since their support page only gives you an email, and their forum link redirects to their main page. If I happen to find an actual patch page somewhere I'll put a link up.

In the meantime, did you try compatibility mode? That may fix a number of them without a patch.

With that said, if you have other games on your Steam account, a chargeback is probably a really bad idea. I think that you can get your entire account suspended for that, although maybe that's just for a charge failing to go through. At the very least, there's no way Steam will ever accept that card again. For non-Valve games, Steam and other downloadable storefronts are like a physical store in that they can't make publishers keep their games current; they put up the orange border warnings on the store page if a problem becomes apparent with an OS, but they can't make them fix it.

Just to check, I tried a couple of them on my Win 7 Home 64-bit system. Luxor and 7 Wonders 2 both worked fine with no issues (although it's possible I did the 7 Wonders 2 patch listed in a thread here back when I installed it, don't remember). Tried The Office with a number of various compatibility fixes, no luck, but it has an orange border warning on the store page. Might try more later if I get the inclination.

Edit: got The Office working now actually. Set the exe to Windows 2000 compatibility mode and make sure all the other boxes in the compatibility tab are unchecked.
