View Full Version : This game looks horribly like early 1990s...

...and I fondly remember how much fun I had with the games of that era. Add the positive critics and the extremely low price to get my Instabuy, even if the summer sale is just over on Steam.

I really don't care that much about graphics if the game is fun.
I regularly pick up Castlevania: Sotn or Secret of Mana 2 since they are better than most of todays crappy games with nearly photorealistic graphics

True! Although I prefer Secret of Mana 1, because IMO the battle system and atmosphere of SoM 2 is not as accessible.

I loved the rpg games and art style of those games from that era too and this portrays it so well. Lovecraft and 16bit rpg, and decent humour with accurate lore and great story. Awesomeness. Im loving it so far for so many reasons but Im sure theres going to be someone who doesnt "get it" and say it really does look bad etc.
I think its beautiful so far, not just the art. Of course it isnt photorealistic as if such a thing were possible. That would be missing the point. I also happen to think even if I knew nothing of Great Cthulhu, I would still enjoy the game for what part of it is - a respect of eldar.. uh I mean older rpgs from a different era.

I remember when i was playing Final Fantasy (on the nes) with an english to french dictionnary just to understand the story, (I was like 9 - 10 years old back then)....God i miss those days....
Anyway, enough rambling about the past, I cant wait to play this game .
Huge thanks to whoever brought this game to steam.
