I've played a bit with a party consisting of: Cthulhu, Paws, Sharpe and October but I'm not really seeing what Paws is bringing to the party.

Yes, he is fast so he always goes first, which is good. But mediocre physical damage and low magic sucks. Also, it seems like equipment for Paws is rare? I'm at the volcano city and I have 3 different weapons and 1 armor while my other characters has tons of new good stuff.

Also, with this setup I don't have a character with revive, will he get it later? I did notice he can gain +100% magic if he unite with October which makes him fairly good spellcaster I guess, but I could really use someone with revive.

You might wonder why I insist on using Paws, well, first I don't really like the other characters (though I think I'm missing one) and second it's a cat.

So has any of you successfully used Paws?

I use him as a healer myself. Haven't noticed his damage being mediocre, but then I use him mostly to keep the rest of the team healed. Since he is so fast, he goes first, which is perfect to pull characters back from the brink.

My party consists of Cthulhu, Sharpe (later replaced by DEM), Dacre and Ember.

And yes, Paws is the worst character in the game hands down.

I've finished Breath before playing Chutulhu and I'm asking myself the same thing.

I don't know, but the only good thing Paws has is a group-heal, which something Umi will probably have later on (I'm not sure).

Maybe some kind of "introduction" text would have change my mind, like "Paws is good at bla bla and can be used for bla bla". So far I just don't care about him and his skills.

I used a Party of Cthulhu, Umi, Paws and October. Paws worked very well with October's "target all enemeys" spells. have Paws cast Meow to make everything insane, get Cthulhu to kill a group and have October finish the enemeys off or leave them weak enough to easily kill in the next round.

This. Meow to open followed by a heavy hitter unite like October/Dacre or October/Ember will wreck stuff. Have Cthulhu mop up with tentacles. Plus, Paralyze is sweet. Paws isn't so great for bosses but for running dungeons he rocks.

I love Paw's weapon (shot claw?) which does damage to the whole group. Currently at the Factory, and it's really nice - over 1000 dmg on insane enemies (2 hits, can't wait to get another +1 hits levelup) to an entire group as soon as you start is very useful. He's not very good on bosses though, for obvious reasons.

Dacre is the one I leave out of the party. Sure he's a great healer, but I like to finish battles as quickly as possible. So my party currently consists of Paws, Umi, and October. Considering switching October for Sharpe though since she is often knocked out before she gets the chance to let off her spells (so slooooow!).

Don't switch her, just make sure she gets a HP or Agility boost next time you level up. Sharpe is very good for bosses, he builds up combo very quickly, but he doesn't have good attacks vs groups or all enemies.

I can agree on Dacre though. Good for long fights, but awful for quick ones - there is just no enough time to show his powers.

Paws... he's okay for dungeon fighting (Meow tech! the rest is pretty much useless though), but bad for bosses.
