View Full Version : Question about traffic and people

The thing I didn't like with other sim games was the way people and cars vanished when you scrolled out/away and when you scrolled/zoomed back in you would find those cars and people no longer there, not because they had moved onto their destination, but because the game engine had removed them.
So does this happen in this game, or are the people and cars always present no matter where you scroll or zoom out/in?
Also just how useful is the flyby mode seen in the trailer? It looks nice or am I just going to end up playing with top down basic view?
I've read a review that mention traffic problems and that it could do with a patch, has that been addressed? Or was it a case of the reviewer not setting things up good enough? http://www.yougamers.com/reviews/30719_cities_in_motion-page2/

Yes, the people at bus stops dont dissapear on their own, either they walk away or get picked up by the bus. When there is a traffic stop because of an accident the vehicles will pile up and your busses won't be able to go on. These vehicles also won't dissapear.
The game plays from the basic top down view you see in any city-simulator.

I've only played it for less then an hour, and people seem to be piling up at busstops. Also when an accident occurs in the city busses get caught in traffic jams making people pile up more. I haven't figured out how to get a balanced system yet, if it's possible.
Also the problem with even-spaced busses has come to my notice. You can't put a roster on your bus stops like: there should be a bus every 15 min. Busses tend to drive a few blocks behind eachother.

Congrats, you have just found out the flaws and realism in the game. People will pile up at a stop (for me, I have 150 for a stop)which is the flaw, and traffic sucks, like in real life. It's an odd game, it's somewhere in between real and flawed. There should be a way to set a schedule for buses, but they'll proably realese that in "Managment DLC" for a couple of dollars:p.
