You have to find Brax, a pig looking dude where you can sell items. The new patch allows you to shift+click items while inside the store to sell items.

If you get a lutefisk cube, it's better to convert 'vendor trash' to lutefisk. These can be tithed to a Lutefisk statue. After a random amount you will be rewarded with an artifact item.

Generally you can use the # of stars beside an item to determine whether it's worth selling or converting to lutefisk.
