View Full Version : Update on pre-order delay

You might have noticed that the space-time continuum disturbance commonly known as 'Valve Time' seems to have severely affected InterWave, leading to the missed pre-order start.
We know some of you were eagerly anticipating yesterday. Consider that no matter how badly you might have wanted pre-orders, this was a gut-churning defining moment in our lives... that was delayed.
The reasons are manifold, but it all boils down to a learning experience at our end. The next time we have a product for Steam, we'll know in advance the kind of assets and requirements that need to be fulfilled, and which door to bang on to make it happen correctly.
As things stand, we have Valve's assurance that first thing in the morning their time, Nuclear Dawn will finally be available for pre-order on Steam. This four day delay from the original date will not affect closed beta, or release, which are still set for the 25th of August and September, respectively.

Thank you for actually giving us tid-bits like this.
Real or not, it's nice to believe a company listens to the fans.

Maybe this is why the next half life installment has been delayed. Maybe its just that Gabe needs to approve some art assets but just hasn't gotten round to it. Maybe. /hope

You know guys, it's already 13:33 at east coast of US and that's where Valve HQ is located in. ND was promised an early morning release.
I feel kinda bad as already 8 other games after the original release date. And one has been released today. Why doesn't Valve just release ND already.

Um, Valve's HQ is located in Washington state - that is the west coast of the United States. 1pm Eastern Daylight Time is 10am Pacific Daylight Time.

Yeah, is a little concerning. One correction though - Valve is on the West coast so it's still morning there. We should see it today... hopefully...
